Social Farming National Forum presents itself

The Italian based Social Farming National Forum [ Forum Nazionale Agricoltura Sociale (FNAS) ] is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 with the aim to represent and promote the values and principles of Social Farming (SF) both in Italy and Europe.

The Forum is the platform where the pluralities of Social Farming (SF) experiences meet; these include all the realities and practices that use agriculture as a mechanism to support disadvantaged people towards employment and in belonging to a healthy social fabric. Members of The Forum are farms, social cooperatives, host communities, associations of families, experts, academia and people from the non-profit and social-health sector.

The cross-cutting nature of The Forum promotes integration of the different cultures and social, agricultural, health, training and work matters while considering SF as the expression of innovation of the agricultural system and of the Welfare policies of the country.

The Forum promoted the creation of a SF Community of practice and represents the experience of SF at national and regional level. Forum is a notational network structured in regional Forum.

The Forum since its inception started a dialogue with both the Italian Members of National Parliament and its Regional representatives giving its support and contribution towards the legislative process that stemmed into the National Law on Social Farming (Law n. 141/2015).
The Forum is a member of the “National Observatory for Social Farming” established in accordance with the above mentioned law.
